The colleges that make up Boise State University offer the opportunity to pursue education in over 180 major fields of interest. Courses are organized under eight academic colleges. In addition, a wide variety of centers and programs act more autonomously, or are affiliated with more than one college. In addition to colleges defined by academic area, Boise State has an Honors College and a Division of Extended Studies
